A choice is now being handed to the fans of Heroes by NBC, as the network asks viewers and fans all over the world: Who wants to create a superhero? Sounds like a reality show, but it’s not. In fact, NBC has now paved a way for fans to cook up their own hero character. The network’s “Create Your Hero” campaign lets the fans do just that and also give the created hero a change to be featured in a new series of live action webisodes next year. The possibility of the character joining the real Heroes show is also there.
The interactive online promotion is composed of two individual phases, which fans can participate in by logging into NBC’s official Heroes site. There, fans are given an opportunity to interact with one another as they discuss their favorite traits that make up their own hero.
The first phase began in mid November, when participants assisted in the creation of a male and female hero by responding to a set of pre-selected questions regarding the hero’s characteristics and attributes. A new question was posted every week on NBC’s website with a unique set of attributes from which fans can cast their vote. Voting could also be done through fans’ mobile phones, which should be appropriately Sprint enabled.
Voting will take place every week through December 17, with more information regarding the “Create Your Hero” campaign posted on the NBC website. For those who have failed to join the first phase of this promotion, no worries because the second phase will soon be launched on NBC.
“Create Your Hero” is just one of a number of marketing efforts of NBC to promote the popular series. Other endeavors that help endorse Heroes are the Heroes Evolutions, Heroes web comic and Heroes Unmasked, among others.
